The University Community Harvest Farmers’ Market is presented by Syracuse University and the SUNY College of Environmental Sciences and Forestry and is open to the public. The market made its debut during the summer of 2007 and will be held on four Fridays during the Central New York growing season. This market is open to the public and University faculty and staff members are encouraged to attend. The event is held from
11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Waverly Ave parking lot and free parking is available in the University Avenue Garage. Community members working or living in downtown Syracuse are encouraged to travel to the farmers’ market via the free Connective Corridor Shuttle Bus.
Approximately 30 Central New York farms and organizations participate in the markets, featuring a wide variety of locally grown fruits, vegetable, plants, snacks, condiment and crafts. In addition to all the vendors, educational literature is available on healthy eating, sustainable practices and organic farming.
