NECSC is a loosely-structured but highly functional regional collective of college and university sustainability practitioners. We get together once a year to share real-world experiences (good and bad), aspirations, plans and concerns about making our campuses, our institutions and our communities more sustainable. This is a moderate-sized conference, providing a maximum of hands-on experiences and a minimum of vendor blather. We hope you’ll contribute your real-world information, to help us make this a top-notch conference for everyone.
Discounted conference registration through Mar. 2!

NECSC Conference 2012 Presentation Proposal Information
Climate, Community and Culture is the theme for the 2012 conference of the Northeast Campus Sustainability Consortium (NECSC), April 2-4 in Syracuse, NY.
The 2012 conference program is organized into four tracks:
- Sustainability 101
- Community relations, operations and municipality collaborations
- Community-based research and education
- The next frontiers in campus sustainability
See some sample presentation topics within each of the four tracks.
Most presentations will involve panels of 2 or 3 presenters. Each presenter will have no more than 20 minutes to speak; a significant amount of time is reserved for questions, answers, and audience discussion. But we’re not asking you to propose a whole panel presentation (of course, you can, if you’d like). What we’re asking is that you propose a topic on which you have experience that you’d like to share, and a couple of the specific points of information that audience members can expect to take away from your presentation and the surrounding discussion. If you can, please identify the conference track you think your topic best fits into – refer to the “conference program tracks" above for guidance. Of course, if you feel your topic deserves and needs longer than 20 minutes of presentation time, feel free to tell us why, tell us what the audience will take away that will justify the additional time, and tell us how best to get in touch with you if we need further clarification.
Presentation proposals must be submitted by January 20, 2012 using the online form below. Conference organizers will review all proposals; assemble a balanced set of panels covering a range of topics, experiences and viewpoints; and notify all submitters no later than February 8, 2012. Please note that all presenters will be required to register for the conference and to pay regular conference fees.
